Child-care

Borgholm's municipality strives as soon as possible, but not later than four months, from the application to be able to offer the requested child-care. If the offered is refused the application must be renewed and new four months period is incured. The placing of children is primarily in order of turn with regard to the parents' wishes.

For pre-school children in the age of 1-5 years old, there is pre-school and family day care homes. For pre-school children in the age of 4-5 years old, there is pre-school free of charge 3 hours/day during the school year. For school children in the age of 6-12 years old there is out of school hours provision and family day care homes.

From 01.01.2002 there is a maximum tariff for child-care. This means that the fee is based on the household's total income but the fee is limited to the maximum amount. Exclusion from the child-care can happen if the required tariff is not paid.
