IT in the Educational Department

IT-pedagogue
An IT-pedagogue has been employed in Borgholm's municipality since 2004. A large extent of the duty is the education of personnel, in order to increase the general IT level in schools and pre-schools but also to provide a planned further education. It can be training in different types of pedagogic software or guidance in the implementation of different IT projects. The IT-pedagogue is also a link between schools and the central IT department, for example in questions about purchasing of hard- or software.

Centre for Pedagogical IT Support, CPITS
The IT-pedagogue has to be updated, primarily in the special pedagogic area, where the development goes very fast. The municipality has therefore built up a so called Centre for Pedagogical IT Support, where pupils in need of special support can test and borrow software programmes and compensatory aids. The team around the pupil can also receive guidance and education at  the CPITS. The IT-pedagogue, leading the CPITS, is cooperating with the municipality's Central Resource Team for students in need of special support.
